Name it. Understand it. Leverage it.
The Survivor’s Edge is a neuroscience-informed exploration of what survival actually builds in the brain. Not just the cost. The edge.
I’m Cindy Petersen. I have an MBA, thirty years of experience, and a career I built through grit, instinct, and more resilience than anyone should need. I have survived childhood abuse, domestic violence, poverty, and the death of my child.
I survived all of it. And then I started studying why.
What I found changed everything I thought I knew about myself. The hypervigilance, the pattern recognition, the calm in crisis, the deep empathy. These are not just personality traits. They are primal adaptations, built by survival and sharpened by years of necessity.
This publication explores those patterns through three weekly posts:
Reflection Monday . Personal essays on survival, identity, and what it means to rebuild
Neuroscience Wednesday . The science behind why your brain does what it does
Poetry Friday . Because sometimes words on a page are not enough
I also created a 12-week course, shorter resets, and two companion music albums. You can explore all of it on the Start Here page.
This is not self-help. This is self-recognition.
